Question

Hi their, my name is kath and im feeling very depressed and unhappy over a trival mistake i made a while ago but which i cant get out of my head. I feel guilty all of the time and people i have spoke to have said that its nothing to worry over but i do, I seem to be eating more and dont look forward to things, i toss and turn at night and seem to have no confidence at all. The living situation im in is that my ex boyfriend rents me a room and im even making comments to him saying that he never loved me and i always compare my self to his other exes. The current man im seeing is lovley but im spoiling the relationships because i keep saying to him that i bet he wishes that he was with somebody else and the jealousy sometimes get too much even for me and many times i feel that my head is going to explode with all the thoughts and mixed up feelings, when we make love i feel that he doesnt it to please me and that i repulse him. please could you tell me why ive all this emotional stuff?

Hello,

Yo sound depressed, guilt ridden and living in a rather bizarre livinmg arrangement. Are you asking what should you do to stabilize things, and reduce your feelings of depression and guilt?

Sincerely,

i just wanted to know if you think i may be on the verge of a break down or something similar? and also what i can do when over whelming feelings ride up and then i end up saying nasty comments which i dont mean and that why it is that im feeling so unattractive and that it only seems to be me in any relationship that causes waves and cant relax. Also why i tend to feel things that arent their and think that the other person im with is wishing that they was with somebody else when theyve tried to assure me that they dont think that and that i think its only my twisted mind whats thinking it.

Hello,

I think it is a stressor living with your ex boyfriend as it is a constant reminder of that which did not work. I do not think you are the verge of a break down, but do think that you need to address these issues. I believe the best way to do so is to go for a brief course of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In CBT you are taught new ways to think and act an as a result you feel better and in more control.
