Question

I have a 9 Month old english bulldog. He has never had any health problems, and has all of his shots and flea medicine. Yesterday, he ate a little less than normal, but he was acting like his old self. Today in the morning he was fine, but would eat...just drank water. And this afternoon he vomitted about 3 times and it is yellow which I know is because he has an empty stomach. I got nervous because he stood and walked and he was very wobbly. Im really nervous, but since its so soon I dont know if I should see if he gets better. Is there a way to settle his stomach? What should I do?

Hello and thank you for the question.

Is there any chance he got into any toxic substances?

When was did he last defecate?

Any change in diet?

He did not get into any toxins that I know of. And he defecated about 2 hours ago twice. The first one was normal, and the second one, there was a lot and a little bit softer.

Ok, Thank you for that information.

It is possible he ate something that has caused a mild irritation of the intestinal tract., You can give Pepcid AC to lower the acid in the stomach. Here is a link to the recommended dosage for dogs.

I would try to feed him a bland diet for the next 2 days. Boiled chicken and rice is recommended. Was the chicken after boiling to remove all fat and grease. Feed this in small meals several times a day.

He may be wobbly from a drop in the blood glucose cause by not eating. Karo or pancake syrup can be rubbed on the gums to help him feel better.

If the vomiting continues, blood appears in the vomit, or becomes more lethargic I would have him seen right away.

I hope your fur baby feels better.

Please let me know how he is doing tomorrow, or reply back if you need further assistance tonight.
