My boxer, age 2, 57 lbs, is on Cephatexin caps 500 mg 3 x a day for a skin infection and has about another 6 days to go. I am about to give him Clomipramine 50 mg twice a day for his separation anxiety. I forgot to ask my vet if there was any problem in using these two drugs at the same time. So is it okay to give both to him at the same time?

Hello and thanks for researching this very important question, and that no one online earlier felt able to discuss this with you.

Although these two medicines are not known to interact with each other, when starting a new regimen I prefer to separate treatments by 1-2 hours so that I can see exactly how an individual dog reacts to each drug.
