Dear XXXXXXXXXXX,
Greetings and welcome to justanswer,
Why have you been prescribed this cream?
do you have any family history of breast or endometrial cancer?
Thank you for the information,
The premarin vaginal cream contains the estrogens and is used for use in atrophic vaginitis in post-menopausal women due to hormonal deficiency.
It may cause the side effect of headache, nausea, vomitting, insomnia as the side effect in some women. The risk of DVT, hypertension, coronary artery disease, breast and endometrial cancer may be more while one is on the drug.
If you have a family history of breast cancer then you may avoid the drug.

precautions and contraindications
Let me know if you have any doubt.
Thank you!
My father was a smoker, and delt with chemicals. I don't see a related problem there.
My aunt did have cancer, however, but no one else did .
If I'm not bothered by headaches, or weight gain, etc. would it still be okay for me to take, and how long, and how often?
If there is no significant history of breast cancer then you may take the cream. It will help in preventing the vaginal dryness due to menopause.
You may take it 2-3 times a week but the excess use should be avoided.
Dear salty,

Yes, the K-Y jelly will also work as a good lubricant and you may use it.It is a water based and also does not contain any estrogen.
