Question

Hi there I just came home to find an empty 400 count bottle of fish oil in the driveway. The 3 Siberian Husky suspects are 85 lbs, 65 lbs and 75 lbs. Is there any danger if one of them ate all 400? What symptoms should I look for? Thanks

Hello,

If this has been within the last 2 hours, grab a bottle of hydrogen peroxide (3% regular household) You can induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide. I would recommend giving one teaspoon per 10 pounds of body weight immediately and gently shake the stomach. Wait 10-15 minutes and if the dog has not vomited repeat the dosage.

If the dog is not able to vomit I want you to call the vet to see if they want to come in to induce vomiting with stronger medications. The peroxide should bring this up. If it comes up the dogs should be fine but its always a good idea to phone the vet so they can be aware of the situation. This much fish oil is likely to cause some serious digestive problems and may cause liver problems as well.
