Question

Hi, I have a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo, 5 speed manual transmission. A couple of weeks ago the stick shift came disengaged from the transmission, held in only by the boot. I can reengage it in the transmission, but have to be careful not to pull upward. Suggestions?

Hello, My name is Mike and I can help you with this problem.

 

This might be something that you can fix yourself if you have the proper tools. You'll need to remove the shift boot to access the top of the transmission. Theres a cover there, and you'll need to go in and find the broken or worn part or parts. Then you should be able to get the parts from a dealer or an online transmission parts supplier.

 

I hope that answers your question and you are able to get this fixed. It isn't that difficult to do, depending on the console setup you have.
