Already Tried:
washing bottom took her to the vet which unfortunately doesn't have a lot of experience with rabbits but we live in a small community-have no choice. Gave her a shot of Baytril and will be giving her doseage for 7 days approx 3ml each day. We are to wash her bottom each day in the tub and then use a hair dryer on low to help with the extraction of any larvae

Hello,

Flystrike is quite a serious condition, so I'm glad you've already had her to the vet. It's unfortunate that you don't have a vet who is experienced in treating rabbits, in your area, but perhaps you can locate one not too far away.

So far, your and your vet's treatment of the condition is good, and Rearguard is one of the recommended treatments for prevention of flystrike, however, it must not be applied to broken skin. You'll find the following article helpful:

Shaving away the fur in the rear area is recommended, but not when the fur is damp. However, rabbit skin is very thin and tears easily, so much care needs to be taken, when removing larvae and treating the affected area.

I hope all will be well with your rabbit.

Answer

Hello again, and thanks for your accept and your reply.

If you are located in the U.K., you can get it from vets who carry it, like Nelson Veterinary Surgery in Surrey:

Contact Novartis, the company who manufactures it, to get additional information re: availability.
