Hi mr chevy!
What exactly do you mean a "Dry start" sound?
Recent repairs?
Mileage?
Mazda actually has a TSB out for this issue. The fix is to replace the VVT actuator. Then change the oil and run the vehicle for 5 minutes. After that replace the oil and the filter. It's about a 3.5 hour job warranty time.
If you've had your vehicle serviced at the Mazda dealership since new, they may help you out and warranty this repair since you are just out of the 50k warranty.
