Hello xoluvbuox75, and thank you for your question.

If your carpet is made of wool or nylon then it can be redyed. If it contains polyester, polypropylene, or acrylic then it cannot be redyed.

Installed carpet can be redyed either by spraying or by use of rotary scrubbers. The latter is a better method if the color change will be significant, as it has much better penetration, resulting in a more even and thorough color change.

If the carpet has significantly faded or bleached areas, or stains that cannot be removed ahead of time, then you can expect that these may still be apparent after the carpet is redyed.
The end result of dyeing will be a darker color than the original. There is no way to remove the original color, so s test area in an inconspicuous area should be done to make sure that the new color chosen has the desired end result when used over the original color.

To find a good professional dyer in your locale you may wish to ask for recommendations from local contractors, interior designers, carpet installers (though they will most likely attempt to sell you new carpet!), dry cleaners, or uphosterers.
