Question

It looks like I will need to buy a high efficiency furnace vents out the side via pvc pipes. My home is about 3700 sq. feet. What type of high quality furnace(s) would you recommend? How much typically to install and how much is the equipment typically? Thanks, XXXXXXX XXXXXX

The duct work is for just one furnace. The current furnace is a Carrier (2001)58TUA 2 speed, 2 stage gas furnace. We wanted to move this furnace from a bedroom location to another location but could not make it work. So, it looks like I need to buy a new furnace with a simpler venting system that fits my new configuration. I have an older 1906 home that has vents all over the ceiling (many are useless since the house was at one time apartments). So, I am hoping we can get rid of the vents we donot need. Hope this answers your question.

Hi,

 

I'm assuming you need the highest BTU output available , I would stick with the Carrier brand and the cost of their 90% + furnace without variable speed ( you don't need variable speed.) That unit costs the contractor approximately 1600 dollars,

 

To have it installed, are they running a gas line , electric and drain ? Or is that all in place where they are moving it to ?
