No it is not cycling at all. It stopped producing ice a few days ago, I don't think there is even water going to the maker. We pulled the refrigerator away from the wall and checked the line and the connection and both look fine. The thing in the bucket that dispenses ice to teh glasses still turns, it is the part that makes the cubes that isn't working. Thanks so much.

Answer

ok ,there are a couple of reasons this could be happening, one make sure there isnt an ice cube stuck in the fingers, 2 you need to take the plastic cover (white) off the front of the ice maker and check the big gear , there are two tabs that hold this gear on make sure one isnt broken or missing, let me know thanks Bryan

I took the cover off like you suggested and everything looks ok. I felt inside the fingers area and it feels like there is a big block of ice all the way across it.

Answer

ok there are two ways to get the ice out of this, 1 remove the ice maker from freezer ( unplug refrigerator) 2 take a hair dryer and defrost the ice maker while its in the freezer. gte all the ice out of it and see if it runs, if not you will probably need to replace it. let me know thanks Bryan

Is there a reason why water wouldn't be running through the tube to the maker?

Accepted Answer

well if the ice maker isnt moving (cycling) it wont call for water, once you get it cleaned out from all the ice it should start working after a couple of hours, if it doesnt let me know , thanks Bryan
