Good Morning,
Thank you for your question and for choosing JustAnswer
Your chances are excellent! Whatever you did in the past, is now in the past; we are all human and we all make mistakes.
There are several things you should do; first, write to the Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics and obtain a certified copy of your son's Birth Certificate.
Next have all you papers in order, so that if and when you go before a judge, you will have all the information he might request;
Be absolutely sure that :
1. You bring it to the Judge's attention that there is a sexual predator in the home where DCF is recommending that you son be placed;
2. Also bring to the Judge's attention what was done to your son's Birth Certificate to show the immoral behavior and the criminal nature of altering a government document;
3. Get copies of the criminal file of the sexual predator and bring it to Court with you and send or give a copy to DCF; If there are no files, then inform DCF of the sexual predator's background and ask that they do a criminal history and background check on him;
4. If the sexual predator has not registered as required, bring that to the Judge's attention also
5. You make your wishes known to the Judge
I hope this information is useful
