We have a two year old Kenmore Elite Trio Refrigerator. The digital code reads "er dh" The ice maker is still dispensing ice, but the screen is frozen and I can't get any button to respond. Is there a way to clear the screen and what does that code mean?

Accepted Answer

DH means that the unit is detecting that the defrost heater is shorted and needs to be replaced. The defrost heater is located inside the freezer behind the interior back wall.

You can usually get rid of the error code by unplugging the unit for 60 seconds but you will need to replace the heater to prvent the error from coming back.
