Question

I have a refrigerator mod # GD25DIXHS00. It quit making ice. The water dispenser and the ice dispenser as well as the ice maker all quit working. The lighted sensor inside the freezer door does not light up at all. (It does not blink, it does not light at all.) Please answer this only if you can tell me exactly how to fix it. If I need parts, please provide the part numbers. Thanks

I am not at home right now and do not have the serial number. Correct -- the chilled water, the ice dispenser and the ice maker do not work.

ok we will try it this way ,since you are not with the unit ....

Did the light on the right side of the freezer wall where the On/Off switch for icemaker is did it used to blink when the door was opened?

it did light up, don't know if it blinked

Answer

ok if it is blinking twice then pausing you have a icemaker issue for the no ice complaint ,the only thing that has anything to do with all THREE issues is the freezer door switch .

If the unit thinks the door is open , icemaker will not work ,and both dispensers will not work.

as i said before there is no blinking, it doesn't light at all, light is out. would the door switch explain that?

That is NOT what you said you said ((it did light up, don't know if it blinked ))

So now you are saying it does not light up at all ?

please see original question... "(It does not blink, it does not light at all.)

That is correct. As I said in my original statement "The lighted sensor inside the freezer door does not light up at all. (It does not blink, it does not light at all.)"

Answer

This is because the optics board has gone out on the unit, this is part number XXXXXXX, You can order the parts you need from the following places, http://www.apwagner.com/, http://www.repairclinic.com/, or http://www.partstore.com/, all of these places offer easy returns and reasonable prices for thier items.

My first suspicion was the same, but that would not account for the water and ice dispenser not working.

Answer

if the lights are not on on the front then I would suspect a bad door switch, which would control this, this is desined to keep them from operation if the door was open

The door switch would not cause the optics board not to light up. I have three problems (1) the optics board does not light up (2) the water dispenser does not work (3) the ice dispenser does not work. I know it is possible that I have two bad parts (optics board and door switch) but it is unlikely for two things to go out at one time.

Accepted Answer

If the door switch is broken , which is a double throw switch then the optics board and the dispenser will also stop working If they both think the door is open even when it is not..
