Question

found out today I have a Mass on the right side of my Brain. I have had cancer of breast but I am cancer free for breast cancer. I need to know if there is something I can take to shrink the mass on my brain without having to go through chemo or radiation again. Thank you for any help you can give me. Kathleen Boos

Well, I attempted to ask some questions to help clarify the answer.

Generally, if there is one single mass in the brain -- you have to give strong consideration to brain surgery -- craniotomy and removal of this mass.

When treating patients for potential cancer spread to the brain -- surgery should be done if there is a single lesion in the brain.

So a referral and evaluation by a neurosurgeon should be your next step.
