Question
i'm thinking about buying a 2002 porsche boxster S with 49,000 miles. I had it checked out by the dealer, who said it was in good condition in need of some maintenance because of it's age. My question is: is the 2002 boxster S a car that requires a lot of maintenance? Does it have many problems? or with regular maintenance, is it a reliable sports car?

Accepted Answer
The boxster is a very good car, the factory recommends maintenance every 15,000 miles. Oil and filter, and pollen filter every 15, oil and filter, pollen filter and air filter every 30, oil filter pollen filter air filter, fuel filter drive belt and spark plugs every 60. They are a very reliable sports car. You occasionally see some oil leaks, oil separators that fail, mass air flow sensors, water pumps, and coolant tanks, but if you had a dealer check it out and it is ok, I think the boxster s is a great car

Answer
I would also recomend doing the 60k service if you purchase this car due to its age, and also the brake fluid should be changed every 2 years
