2008 Hyundai Sonata. The car is off but there is a blinking red light on top of the dashboard. This hasn't happened before. Can't find anything in the manual. Can you tell me what this light is? Thanks.

All I've done is ask my husband to help and all he did was give me the user manual. Can't find anything in there that would explain what that light is on top of the dashboard.

Hello, the red light on top of the dash is the indicator for the security system, it should be on any time the security system is active.

it should go off if you unlock the doors using the key fob.

Unlocking the door slows down the flashing. Once I lock the doors again, the flashing speeds up.

As long as the light stops blinking once the vehicle is started you shouldn't have anything to worry about, it's there as a theft deterant more than anything.
