Question

my mastiff mix has what look like cold sores on his gums from the canines toward the back, they are NOT wart or califlowery. Should I be worried or just give it a few days to run its course?

If you are seeing open sores on the gums I'd plan a vet visit.

This might be periodontal disease, a bactieral infection, a virus, or even a form of cancer so an in person vet exam to determine the right kind of treatment is the best option.

I'd suggest not waiting as if it is something that will require dental care or removal its best to do that as early as possible.
