my bitch is 7 weeks pregant well i think she is has put on 6lb and her demeanor has changed the last couple of days shes gone off her food is this normal and also how much on aver age do the new born puppies weigh

Hi again~

 

It's not unusual for a bitch to have some personality changes..especially towards the end of her pregnancy. The same hormones that affect pregnant humans also affect pregnant dogs, so what you're seeing behaviorally is probably just about right.

 

Going off food isn't all that unusual either...the trick is to keep trying to tempt her with good smelling stuff that she won't be able to resist. I've found that a little human baby food (the meat flavored kind), warmed up in the microwave for a few seconds smells so good that I've never met a dog who can refuse it...you could absolutely try that with your girl.

 

As for the weights of the pups...Bichons are small, so they'll probably weigh less than a pound or so.

can they have them early as she has put on a lot of weight and is huge

As a general rule, dogs don't go into labor early. Maybe a day or two, but not more than that.
