Hi, I have a rash like symptoms around my pubic area. They are not on my penis. They are are one thigh, go above my penis, and then around to the other thigh. I broke out bad over the weekend, and have been putting aloe vera on it and it seems to be relieving it. Some had white heads, others looks like small lesions or something... I thought it might be an allergic reaction to the flu shot... or it could be due to having rough sex and the girl rode me a lot and was bigger than I. On occasion after sex, I have had a few clusters of pimple around my shaft, and once or twice on the head, usually after sex. I just assumed that it was due to rough sex. Any ideas?
Gender: MaleAge: 27 Already Tried: aloe vera and hydrogen peroxide
Hello; Thank you for writing in today. I want to provide you with the best possible information, so I have a few questions. I hope you understand. When did you have this sexual encounter? How long have you had this rash? Did it appear in one area and spread or has it been diffuse like this from the start? Any odor or discomfort? Please let me know. Lisa
I had this sexual encounter last Wednesday... I have had the rash since Friday or Saturday, it started all in the same areas, just expanded a little bit more after time. I started using Aloe Vera and Peroxide two days ago and it seems to be reducing it significantly, like it might totally be gone in another day or two. It has some discomfort when pressed upon, but the discomfort is going away as the area recedes in size... no odors that I am aware of. My flu shot was on Wednesday as well..
Just a couple final questions. You say no real pain. What about itching, burning, or tingling in the area? Any other symptoms, such as fever or swollen glands since having the sexual encounter? Is the relationship monogamous and long term? Please let me know. Lisa
No itching, burning or anything else. The only time that I actually notice it is when I am actually pressing upon it. No other symptoms that I am aware of, but I cannot tell if my glands are swollen. The relationship is monogomous
At this point, I suspect two possible causes. The first is contact dermatitis and herpes virus. I am doubtful that this is herpes. If this were a herpes virus you would most likely have more symptoms. However, since some people can have mild outbreaks with minimal symptoms, it is worth mentioning. Also, herpes usually presents with more of a clear fluid like blister. Therefore, I am more suspicious of contact dermatitis. This could be due to the sexual friction. You could consider using some over the counter hydrocortisone cream to see if this helps. Also, keep the area clean and dry. You may want to use an antibacterial soap, since there is a risk of infection due to some breaks in the skin. I suspect this will clear up quickly. I hope this helps. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please let me know. Lisa
Since sometimes I get pimples on my penis after sex (small ones) and then they go away, could that also be due to contact dermatitis?? I usually don't shower after sex. Thanks!
This is most likely due to a clogged sweat gland, rather than contact dermatitis. This can be common and is benign. However, of course, due to the limits of the internet, if you want a definitive diagnosis, you would have to have your provider look at it sometime.
