Question

my dog had was sedated about three hours ago for some xrays. After coming home I gave him the perscribed carprofen and clavamox with some food. He's vomitting up kibble that is covered with white foamy substance. Is he having a drug interation or did we give him meds and food too soon after sedation? My dog is a 4 year old 80 lb labrador retreiver.

HI and thanks for the question,

 

I would agree with you suspicions that you fed him to early after sedation, we often recommand no food for 8 hours after sedation.

 

You can give 2 tsp of pepto if you have it or 1 tab of pepcid ac

Is it really ok to give him something else even if he has had the other medication?

Yes the pepto will help the nausa which would be the best but pepcid will also help by lowering the stomach acid
