It seems that when i lift my arm up away from my body the numbnrss gors away. Do you think this is a heart issue or a pinched nerve or??

Hello & Welcome to Just Answer,
From the descriptions that you have provided it seems more likely that a numbness going away with elevation of your arm away from your body is nerve related and you could be right about it that it might be a pinched nerve.
Since the numbness is located in the left arm, and at your age of 57, it would be prudent to get an ECG/ EKG done which will be very reassuring if it turns out to be normal. I think that if the numbness is going away every time you move your arm away from your body, then it is a pinched nerve.
Please check in with your doctor and get yourself examined thoroughly and you could also discuss the issues discussed here.
I hope that the information I have provided is helpful to you. Best wishes. Please feel free to enquire if you have any remaining concerns as it will be a privilege to try help you as much as I can.
