Im not sure what directly interchangable means? will the long blocks interchange? It is a 2000 Vitara 2.0L and a 2004 Forenza 2.0. If not can you tell me what will interchange with a 2000 Suzuki Vitara 2.0 L with Manual transmission?

Answer

No, they are not interchangable.
To the best of my knowledge, you will only be able to use same-generation (2000, 20001, etc) Vitaras for replacement.

Checked every possibility I could find in US market vehicles, the Vitara is the only Suzuki in the US that I can find that uses that engine.
If you go outside of the Suzuki line, the 00-era Geo/Chevy Tracker used the same 2.0L engine as an option, and the short block could be interchanged. The wiring however is different, so you would have to transfer all your parts to the new short block rather than use a drop-in assembled engine. Be aware there were two engines in available in that vehicle (the 2.0 and a 1.6) so be sure you are buying the right engine if you go that route.
