No other sx except loss of appetite and disturbed sleep - Nasal swab negative for Influenza A & B. I'm 63 year old Female with Fibromyalgia. Meds I'm on: Ultram, Guaifenisin, Premarin, Amitriptyline (25 mg @ HS). Hx: a single episode of Atrial Fib about 12 years ago, corrected with cardioversion. 10 years ago, L Donor Nephrectomy, but very healthy in general save for incidental Raynaud's Phenomenom, worsening in recent years & some overnight temperature regulatory problems (getting cold even though temp around is stable or sleeping with little over when husband is fine with all the blankets etc.) . This is the first time I've noted a daytime problem.
Hello,
You should be investigated for following;
1) thyroid function tests
2) connective tissue disorder
Apart from recent onset low grade fever, headache and low energy, Raynaud's phenomenon and temperature regulation problem point to look for above. The initial blood work would entail;
1) Complete blood count
2) Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)
3) ASLO titer
4) C-reactive protein
5) RA factor
6) Antinuclear antibody
7) T3, T4, TSH
These investigations will either clinch the diagnosis or give further guidelines for investigations and management.
Please feel free for your follow up questions.
