Answer

Have you removed the evaporator housing/core yet? It's supposed to come out first, then the heater housing, then the core.
Technically you could just loosen it up and pull it forward to gain access, saving discharge I guess.

There are four studs/nuts holding the heater box in, once they are removed you can pull the box off the firewall enough to be able to lift the core out.

I assume the evaporator housing is under the hood.....the heater core is in a box under the passenger dash.

Answer

Yes, the evaporator is under the hood and extends over the right hand edge of the heater core box. As I said before, you can unbolt the evap box from the firewall and pull it forward away from the firewall and that should gain you enough access to get the heater core box unbolted and pulled far enough out to slide the heater core up and out of it.

Accepted Answer

In case you already have the box clear and can not move the heater box out, here are the locations of the four nuts holding the box to the firewall.
Once you remove these, you will be able to pull the box far enough back to clear the heater core out the top.
Again, the evap box interferes with getting the heater box out, and needs to at least be unbolted and pulled back, if removal isnot an option.
Here are the nut locations for the heater box, the two pipes top center are the heater core pipes sticking through the firewall:
