I just bought a 9 week old Imperial Shih Tzu. I am feeding him Nutro Ultra dry puppy food. I am feeding him a 1/4 cup twice a day and he eats half or a little more at each feeding. First, Is there a better dry puppy food that I should feed him and is he eating the right amount? Thanks, Bill

Is he eating well with normal stools?

Yes that is what they were feeding him,his stools are normal. I feed my 5 year old Shih Poo Wellness dry food and was thinking maybe switching to that brand of puppy food.

Hi Bill,

Wellness is a fine food. If you want to switch the pup to Welllness puppy food thats fine BUT you do not want him to get diarrhea from the food change so it must be done gradually. Add only one tsp of the new food to the old per meal per dy.

If he tolerates it well you can up it to two tsp next week.
