Question

I cannot get windows to open on my laptop in anything other than safe mode. I don't know what's wrong with it. I think we may have had a power surge sometime during the night on Sunday as the Mac wouldn't work either but was ok when the fuse was changed. I am only surmising this. I have Windows 2003 student teacher. Also recently I've been getting mails from Microsoft about upgrades etc if that has anything to do with it. HELP

Answer

SUre,

Try to get hold of a XP disc.

We will perform a repair installation of windows and you won't loose any files.

You can also try this:-

  1. Boot to Windows XP Safe Mode With Command Prompt.

  2. At the Command Prompt, type C:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe and press Enter.

  3. Follow the instructions given to perform the System Restore process.
