Question

I have a no run situation with my 2000 b3000 3.0l v-6. I decided to start with the fuel filter. When I took the filter out I decided to see if fuel was getting to the filter. I turned the ignition on and could hear the fuel pump run but no fuel was coming from the lines. I purchased a repair manual which said to check the fuel pressure regulator that was located in the fuel tank. I have the tank out and have the fuel pump assembly out. I went to my local parts store and they cannot find a replacement part in their catalogs or computers for a fuel pressure regulator in the fuel tank. I also could not find a replacement part online. I am willing to spend the $100 or so to replace the pump but do not want to put the assembly back in without verifying this issue of the fuel pressure regulator.

Hi! you have a returnless fuel system, with a regulator that is built into your fuel pump.

When you replace the pump, you will be replacing the regulator as well. Only way

to get it is as a complete unit. You are correct, the regulator most likely failed,

especially if you can hear the pump run, but the regulator is located in the entire fuel

pump assembly, and if you have not studied this specific system, it is hard to know.

Thanks

Nick.

Hope I answered your question, an accept, and bonus is always appreciated!

Thanks

Nick
