Hello, I hope to help you get this problem solved. First, make sure you checked all of the possible fuses. Your owners manual can help determine the fuseblock location as there are more than one.
Check the connector underneath the seat and it's wires. Make sure there are no burned, rubbed through, or disconnected wires. Make sure the connector can be unplugged and reconnected properly. Follow the harness to any controls on the seat.
Are all of the controls on the seat, or are there also controls on the drivers door switch?
This is one of those rare cars in which all the fuses are easily accessible. I have pulled and swapped out all those that apply to either the seat or seat heating systems.
All the wiring looks brand new and the plugs are all connected properly.
There are seat adjustments on the seat iself.
Plus there are automatic seat adjustments on the door. But I have turned all the automatic adjustments off.
The controls for lheating the seats are on the door.
I originally had the automatic seat adjustments turned on and set only for my comfort as no-one else drives the car.
When I go into the car and started it, the seat, for the first time ever, moved forward without me adjusting it and it stopped as close to the steering wheel as it would go. My belly now rubs the steering wheel.
The car also has automatic settings for exiting the car more easily but those have always been turned off.
The other functions on the door such as windows and door locks all work fine.
The passenger seat settings for adjustment and heating also work fine.
I have checked all the electronic settings for the door positioning system and they all work fine.
Ok, thank you. That is very helpful information. First, you might try removing the related fuses. Drivers door module fuse and drivers seat module fuse. LEave them out for 2 minutes and plug them back in. If you have a computer logic lock-up, this may resolve your issue.
There are a couple other options. There are a lot of programming updates for these modules if your vehicle never got them when it was under warranty. You may have something that needs to be re-programmed.
Other than that, you may have a module failure.

Removing the fuses and letting it sit for 15 minutes did not help.
I had hoped to avoid taking this to the dealer but it looks like that is my only recouse.
