Answer
The easiest solution is just to use a new first name. To change your name legally requires a court proceeding and redoing things like your naturalization papers. It is common for persons from other countries to use an Americanized name for their dealings here without actually changing their name legally. Am I allowed to use my chosen Americanized first name on forms, documents, or just when I intrudce myself.
Will I be able to display this new first name on my nurse name tag?
Accepted Answer
You can display the new first name on name tags. You can also use it on forms and documents. However, in certain circumstances you will need to use your true legal name. For exmaple on your employment forms you fill out for your employer, you would put your legal name and in parentheses the new first name. In some cases you would put your true legal name and then add also known as (a/k/a) your new first name with your legal last name. If this answer is responsive to your question, please accept it.
