Question
Sony MP3 player NWD-B105. Album was transfered to player using windows media player, by hilighting all the tracks & click drag method. When the folder is viewed the tracks are in the order they apper on the album. however when played they are in alphabetical order. The play mode is in normal (not repeat or shuffle). Why does the player want to play them in this order & not the order on the album (& the order the artist intended them to be played in, its a bit of a giveaway that a track called 'intro' should be played first.)How can I get the player to play them in the right order? I have tried putting the tracks on one at a time, even going as far as diusconecting the player after installing each individual track, but the player still wants to play them alphabeticaly.

Hi XXXXXXXXXX. Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer.
it happens due to the difference in stroage technology.
When the album is created, it is distributed on optical media, which has tracks for individual song.
Here individual song is addressable using track #.
That is there is one song per track and the tracks are played in order.
But when these songs are copied to any megnatic media which has direct access(unlike tape which is also megnatic media but has serial access not direct), like the storage of you MP3, there are no track per song and songs are addressable by their name. I.e. Songs are playes alphabatically.
I have come accross with the situation. before transferring the song to MP3 player, you need to rename the songs to create an order, like:
1.intro.mp3
2.song2.mp3
so on.
put lower # before the song, you like to play first.
it will resolve the issue.
