Question

I have a Kenmore front loading washer and dryer. 11/2 years old. the door to the washer is locked and won't open. The model and serial on the dryer is M970C81032-20.ser.# SXD33208108 I can't get the numbers on the dryer as they are inside! Any tips on how to get the door open? thanks.

door on washer locked. matching dryer is model #M970C81032-20. I have left it plugged in and waited 30minutes as suggested.

yes I have already tried uplugging and replugging. I did this first.

yes we have also done this. the power is not the issue!When you turn the dial to the cycle and pull the knob it buzz's and the door lock light comes on!

Thank you. You most likely have a fault in the door lock circuit. In many cases the "wax motor" has failed but I would check the entire circuit to make sure. This is not a repair I'd recommend to the average homeowner. Give this info to a few appliance service techs by phone and get your best price before agreeing to service.
