my labrador has a growth on the middle of his nose. It looks like an overgrown wart and is ugly/now black. What is it and how should it be treated? He is 13 years old and has had it for some months now.

Dear friend,

I am sorry your boy has this trouble.
It sounds like a Lipoma or papilloma which is similar to a human wart and cause by a virus.
They are usually benign but any growth should be evaluated by a vet just to err on the side of caution.
