Question

Hello, I own a 2001 Infiniti QX4. Just finished replacing the outer tierods, struts and rear shocks. I also want/need to replace the ball joints but it seems that I have to remove the axle in order to do this. How hard of a job is this?

Hi! There It is about a 2 hour job. If you have never done one It may take you longer. You do not have to take the axle out of the car. You will remove the axle nut. Lee

I've done ball joints on Jeeps, BMW's, Mercedes, Chevy"s/GMC's etc. This seems a little more complicated. You're talkin about the nut that usually holds the axle to the wheel hub?

Accepted Answer

To do this job by the book you will remove the steering Knuckle. If you have done the ones above then you will do this job in about an hour to hour and half. It is easier than a chevy S10. I can give you a step by step. Lee
