Is this an ongoing issue or new?
How old is your Yorkie?
Did the vet do any testing?
The shaking has happened before, for a very short period of time, maybe a day or two, but it went away.
He is 3years old.
He has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, however his urine is concentrated (always was) and now his BUN is 16 and creatine in blood is 1.2 (after one month on enalaprin. The BIG issue is he continues to have protein loss in his urine. They are testing again for a UTI, but this has come back negative along with many other tests (lyme, heartworm etc). It is very frustrating because all his symptons are not true to kindney disease.
You may find this info on what blood work means seen here interesting
http://www.bichonfriseusa.com/caninebloodwork.htm
You may be seeing shaking due to the kidney issue and a build up of toxins or a loss of electrolytes.
You might see if adding plain pedialyte to his water bowl helps at all.
You could see if a few drops of sugar syrup helps stop the shaking too.
This site discusses reasons for protein loss
http://www.petplace.com/dogs/proteinuria-in-dogs/page1.aspx
just close any pop ups and scroll down the page for all the info.
You can also read here about small dogs shaking
http://maltesedogs.com/white_shaker_dog_syndrome.htm
and this happens in dogs that are not white just small too.
Hope this helps you!
