Question

My question pertains to a 1997 Geo Metro with the 1.0 ltr. 3 cylinder. After a rebuilt head was put on, and everything hooked back up correctly (I've owned and worked on three of these vehicles), after about 500 miles, timing appeared to jump by 10 degrees. Thinking my daughter (who drives like she's in a race...) may have caused the timing belt to jump, I disassembled and checked, and all timing components were in correct poisition. Reset computor by diconnecting + terminal and and reset timing to +5 BDTC, with the jumper shorted. Took out to test and immediately got hesitation under load, and CEL came on. When I put code reader on, it showed a P0302, or cylinder 2 misfire. Checked all ignition components (which were new in any event) by swapping, and all appears well. AFter some checking online, tested TPS, and it reads well under the ohm readings it should at closed position. Have ordered another, but my question is, would a bad TPS cause spark-advance problems?
