Question

Can I treat the sand between my block pavers to stop weeds growing please? Drive is 20 years old, good condition, treatment at present is let weeds grow, spray with weed killer, wait a week or so then scrape dead weeds awway. Very time consuming and tiring, I am a pensioner. Can weeds be stopped from growing in the first place?

Answer

Hi David
The problem is new weed seeds germinating. The best option would be to spray a pre-emergent herbicide. A pre-emergent keeps treated seeds from germinating. There are a number of pre-emergents available at most garden centers.
If I'm not mistaken I believe there is a new version of Roundup that includes a pre-emergent
