Question

I was sexually abused as a child and at the age of 16 I had a breakdown. It took the form of not being able to walk down the street and face anyone. It was as though my mind had split somehow. Now in later years I have identity problems and OCD and fear of insanity. Is there any hope?

Well I know who I am but it makes no sense. I try to argue with myself but thoughts keep flying at me saying I am going crazy and I can't rationalise them

Thanks for getting back to me.

Given what you have told me, Yes - there is hope.

Taking things a bit at a time the issue of sexual abuse and OCD. A course of cognitive behavioral therapy would greatly help you to deal with these issues, and some medication would probably help with the OCD.

Secondly, I suggest that you talk to your doctor about the identity issues and the OCD, may wish to presribe some medication, or rfere you to apsychiatrist who has much more experience in that area.

OK,

Can we talk again at a later date? There are other issues! Such as a high I.Q. and my imagination runs riot. It seems I am ytring to solve this puzzle but my mind won't let me!
