Question

I have a 1991 honda accord. I am having sifting problems. I am not sure if it is the trans, or the ecu-tcu or something else. It slips going into gear sometimes and sometime it will just start downshifting on it's own and sometime it will just stop all together. I need to know how to tell whaat it is?

not sure if it blinks I only got the car a couple days ago. the s light comes on sometimes without me pushing the botton

Ok the most common issues on these cars are shorted out transmission computers.I would start by replacing the tcm making sure its for the same year and model if there is still a problem then we will need to further diagnose the transmission .but most common is a faulty transmission computer.

Is that the box under the carpet on the passanger side under front seat?

Its the smaller of the 2 computers located under the passenger carpet .Once the carpet is pealed back remove the 4 10mm mounting nuts then flip the braket up.Its the smaller of the 2 computers.
