Double check fuse 42 in the under hood fuse box. It is a 20 AMP fuse labled small light. also double check fuse 10 in the under dash fuse box. It is a blue 15amp fuse labled TAIL LIGHT. Also instal a like fuse in the empty fuse slot 20, as a back up to fuse 10. If this does not solve the problem, with a test light, check for power on the RED/BLACK wire coming off the headlight switch with the switch in the ON position. If you have power there, go to connector c980 found on the front of the under dash fuse box. It is a gray 20 pin connector with 10 wires total, this is the first plug just above the fuses to the left. using your test light check the RED/BLACK wire. If you do not have power at this wire but do have power at the light switch, repair the damaged wire. If you have power the problem is most likely internal in the under dash fuse box.

If you do noy have power at the RED/BLACK wire at the back of the light switch, check for power at the RED/GREEN wire coming off the switch, this should be hot at all times. If you do not have power, locate connector C408. It is a brown 5 pin connector located behind the dash to the left of the stearing column. Check the RED/GREEN wire on both sides of the plug for power. If you have power, repair the damaged red green wire. If you do not have power, test power at the RED/GREEN wire at connector C251. this connector is on the back of the under hood fuse box. it is a 11pin gray connector. If there is now power here and all fuses are good, the problem starts in the under hood fuse box.
