Hello and welcome to JustAnswer.

Is this a ferret or a feral cat?

How much motrin are you giving?

I'm sorry my typing is terrible - a ferral cat - a stray that just showed up at my door step

I hate to see it suffer - don't have a lot of money

the motrin is liquid and I fill it up to the first line on the syringe - I'm sorry

I don't remember how much it is -

Ok, thanks for the clarification.

Ibuprofen can be toxic in cats so I would discontinue the Motrin.

It sounds like this kitten probably has a respiratory infection. I of course cannot make a definite diagnosis without examining the kitten.

If you can trap the kitten and take it to a veterinarian, this would be the best option. If you cannot, continuing the amoxicillin will be the best course of action and hope for the best. A 3 month old kitten is likely to be about 3lbs and thus would need to get about 15mg of amoxicillin twice daily. Clavamox would be a better choice if you have access to it. Some of these infections are viral and caused by a herpes virus. Giving lysine powder (this can be obtained from a veterinarian or a nutritional supplement store) at 250mg in the food twice daily may provide some benefit.

That is about all you can do without having the kitten treated directly by a veterinarian. Make sure she has a warm dry place to rest while she recovers from the infection.
