hi, my 10yr old golden reteriver, has been sick 4 times this evening , he is eating and going to the toilet as normal but just very pale lookin. can you help?

Hi dydrmr,

Is your dog vomiting?
If so, when did the vomiting begin? When did the most recent vomiting episode occur?
If you lift his upper lip and look at his gums above his teeth, are they the same color as yours or do they look different to you?
If you touch his gums there, are they wet, dry or sticky?

hi,

yes my dog is vomiting he had us up twice in the night and has not stopped since, he last vomited about 10 minutes ago, his gums are very pale, almost white looking.

ive tried to feel his gums, but he wont let me open his mouth long enough.

all he has had this morning is water and that also has been brought back up.

This is an emergency..your dog really needs to go to the veterinarian immediately. This amount of vomiting can because by many, many different things....and the combination of severe vomiting and pale white gums is a serious sign. Pale gums are usually due to anemia (low red blood cell count). Anemia can be caused by many different things as well. Pale gums can also occur when an animal is bleeding internally.

I strongly advise that you take him to a veterinarian right away. I hope that he comes through this okay,
