Question

I have a 86 vw cabrolet, and it had a new clutch put in last year. Its slipping out of fifth gear when I go over 60 mph. If I let the car sit over a day, when I get in to go it makes a loud sound and it seems like i have the emergency brake on, it pops out and Im good to go. Is the clutch going out again? Im 47 years old and drive very easy.

Are you saying that the shifter will pop out of fifth gear and go to neutral, unless you hold it in position, or are you saying that you can feel the clutch feel like it is slipping (press the gas and the engine revs, but no speed increase)?
