what color is the smoke out the one pipe..is it more blue or real black?how much oil does it use?has this carb always ran well?
i think the problem is the oil sealson the valves,,after it sits for a while the cylinders on the side that smoke get oil in them ,,causeing the cylinders not to fire well untill it has run a while and burns the oil out

i would think to really fix it, you may want to do a complete head job and rering job. but i think you can get by with maybe replacing the valve stem seals. with proper tools this could be done with the heads on the engine.
