Hello,

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but your chinchilla needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. He may have been feeling a little off for several days, but there were no symptoms for you to see. By the time a chinchilla is as weak as you've described, it is quite ill. Being extremely weak could be a sign of many different illnesses, so there's no way for you or me to know exactly what is wrong. A vetmay need to do blood work or take x-rays to reach a diagnosis. This link will take you to a directory of chinchilla vets:

Until you can get to a vet , use a syringe to put some water in the side of his mouth. Pedialyte (made for human infants and available in discount stores and pharmacies) is even better for preventing dehydration. It would be best to see a vet tonight. Chinchillas can deteriorate quickly when they're ill. If you have more questions, just let me know by clicking on REPLY. I hope your chinchilla will be fine.
