Question

my toyota pickup ( 4 x 4 ) with 22re motor has an idling prob. after it warms, it starts surging at idle, and when i push the brake pedal, it steadies but idles way to fast. Driving o the hiway it runs great. Also, when driving slow thru parking lots, it is jerky when i let off and give gas. I replaced the TPS and EGR valve but that didn't help. Any ideas?

Optional Information

Year: 1989
Make: Toyota
Model: 4 x 4 pickup truck
Engine: 22RE

Already Tried:
i replaced the EGR valve, and the Throttle position sensor. It ran fine just after smog test , they cleaned the EGR valve at that time. Tuning the distributor doesn't make any difference to the idling, neither, for some reason.I suspect the Mass air flow sensor now, but don't want to keep buying parts to fix it by elemination process. Thanks for your help.
