Question

whenever i go uphill in my 99' chevy astro, it loses all power and the check engine light flashes. i have to put in neutral, and rev the engine, then continue. i still can't get past 40mph up hill. every hill. every time.
my fuel pump has been replaced 3 times as well as all my filters. this is costing me like crazy between mechanics and rentals. i am not making anything because i am a locksmith, and well, you get the point. thanks!! jay

Answer

a flashing check engine light is a major missfire. It is usually ignition or fuel related. I would start by doing a complete tune up plugs wires cap and rotoe and i would also do a hi preesure fuel injection cleaning

everything you have mentioned has been done just before the problems. plugs, wires, cap, roter, pcv, even three vacuum lines that were broke. my mechanic added the fuel pump. no changes. what gives?

Accepted Answer

i would pull the plugs and recheck them maybe he gapped them wrong? if it started after he repaired he may have a faulty ignition part or a bad coil
