I have an Akai PDP4294 Plasma TV that has sound but no picture. I know that it is getting a signal because can change channels and hear the different programs. What do you think the problem is?

OK, this TV accepts signals in 3 ways:

1. Composite cables - these are 3 RCA cables: typically colored red, blue and green. These are only for the video. No sound. You will also need the Red and White from #2 below for the sound. 5 cables total.

2. Traditional Left Channel(White), Right Channel (Red)and Video (Yellow).

3. SVideo cable. Sound and Video in one cable.

If you are using a receiver or cable box, you should be able to use any of the three above. If you are not getting a poicture, my bet would be that you are using #2 and have the wires crossed.

Take a look and tell me how you are connecting the TV and if you are using a cable box or receiver.
