Question

I am starting an online business that I will work from home. I will not stock any product or have any inventory. All sales will be handled by the distributor who will then drop-ship the product directly to the customer. I live in the state of Georgia. Will I be required to collect sales tax or need a sales tax id?    thanks

Optional Information

State/Country relating to Question: Georgia

Already Tried:
No sales tax id's have been obtained so far.

Accepted Answer

Under OCGA 48-8-3, "Sale of tangible personal property delivered to the purchaser outside Georgia" is exempt from sales tax, if the reseller retains proof via a "Bill of Lading" or Form ST-6.

Sales to Georgia residents are taxable.

Hope this helps.
