I have- Chevy 2500HD w/6inch BDS suppension lift
I want -To use factory wheels w/a wider stance
What are- The CONS of using 2inch thick wheel spacers

You need to remember that it weakens the front end and will accelerates wear on it too. The bigger tires and increase offset increase stress on axle and in effect reduce its load capacity (because load center is further out from chassis) A axle rated at 3500 lbs is not going to break at 3800 or 4000 but it will wear quicker. Take for example if you axle had a static load on it of 3000 lbs, the added stress for spacers and such will make the axles steering and ball joints fell like there is 3500 lbs or more on it now because of added leverage. I guess it boils down to how much you love your truck and how long you want it to last

What I should have asked- Will 2inch spacers have a more neg. effect than adding a wider rim than factory- ex. 16 x 10inch vs stock
